Who we are - a team eager to work with you

Consider the professional consulting support available through The Last Word Communications.

We're a husband and wife team - partners in business as well as in life. We developed our expertise in public relations and corporate communications in both the private and public sectors over a total of more than 40 years. We also have experience in journalism, advertising and process improvement.

In addition, we'd like you to know that we believe in giving back to the world through active involvement in volunteer work, in particular, adult literacy and AIDS,and support of children in Canada and other parts of the world.

  • At KPMG, a major international accounting firm, Rod:

    • Provided communications advice and services to the business leaders
    • Consulted and delivered on communication strategies for human resources, regulatory compliance, KPMG businesses, and Y2K

  • At a leading Canadian financial institution and the Ontario provincial government, Rod:

    • Led the communications for several major change initiatives

  • At the former Ontario Hydro, he:

    • Produced the organization's corporate-wide employee communications vehicles and programs for a company of 30,000
    • Wrote and managed the employee and corporate annual reports
    • Developed executive speeches and communications
    • Handled media relations assignments

  • At several community newspapers in the Toronto area, he:

    • Was an editor, writer, photographer and layout artist

  • Diploma in Journalism from Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario

  • At the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, a leading professional association, she:

    • Directed all communications for an organization supporting 25,000 members and 5,000 students

  • At several community newspapers in the Toronto area, she:

    • Was an editor, writer, photographer and layout artist

  • BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Toronto

  • Accredited process improvement instructor and facilitator
